Al-Barka Map Poster & Print
Al-Barka is one of the municipalities of Basilan, the large island off the southern tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula in the far south of the Philippines. It is a relatively young municipality and a largely rural one. It is made up of barangays spread across farmland and hills rather than a single dense town centre. It belonged to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, which has since been succeeded by the Bangsamoro region.
Seen from above, Al-Barka is mostly green space crossed by thin lines. Rural roads follow the lie of the land, footpaths link settlements and small streams run toward the coast. Basilan as a whole is known for plantation farming, notably rubber, and orderly tree rows and farm clearings shape much of the island's landscape.
An Al-Barka map poster is therefore less about streets than about pattern. Clusters of houses appear as small knots along the roads, separated by broad open areas, and the composition feels spacious and quiet.
