Planned street grid
Wide avenues and regular blocks give the town an orderly, modern plan. It is a textbook example of a settlement laid out quickly for an oil industry workforce.

关于地图
Al Khafjī Map Poster & Print
Al Khafjī sits on the Persian Gulf coast of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, close to the border with Kuwait. From above, it is a planned town: broad roads meet at clean angles, and residential blocks fill a neat grid between the desert and the sea. Outside the built area, flat sand stretches inland with few features.
The town grew around oil. It lies in what was once the Saudi–Kuwaiti Neutral Zone, now the Divided Zone, where both countries share offshore oil production. Industrial areas and port facilities sit along the coast. In January 1991, during the Gulf War, the town was the site of the Battle of Khafji, the first major ground engagement of that conflict.
An Al Khafjī map poster places a grid of streets against two strong horizons: the open desert on one side and the Gulf on the other. The contrast between the planned town and the empty land around it gives the design a striking clarity, and it also shows how new this settlement is.

Gulf coastline
The shore runs along the town's eastern edge, with harbour works and industrial installations extending into the water. It forms a firm, clean boundary on the map.
Desert surroundings
Beyond the last streets, the land is open and flat. The empty space around the grid makes the town stand out sharply and gives the poster a spare, minimal feel.

为什么选 Al Khafjī
一张有意义的地图
The map resonates with people who have lived or worked in the Eastern Province oil industry, and with those who have family in the town. Its geometry and wide empty surroundings make it one of the more graphic compositions a coastal map can offer.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a name or date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the files as 300 DPI PNG and PDF, or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
