The White Nile
The broad river runs alongside the town. It is the largest single shape on the poster and gives the composition its strong vertical axis.

关于地图
Al Qiţena Map Poster & Print
Al Qiţena lies on the White Nile, south of Khartoum, in the state that takes its name from the river. On a map, the river is the dominant feature, a wide band running roughly north to south. The town's streets line up along the bank, and the grid extends inland from the water in fairly regular blocks.
Around the built-up area, irrigated land follows the river, marked by channels and field boundaries that turn the land beside the Nile into a patchwork. Beyond that, the ground becomes drier and more open, and roads and tracks run out across it toward other settlements in the region.
Al Qiţena's layout clearly depends on the Nile: nearly everything in the town is organised with the river in mind. An Al Qiţena map poster records that relationship directly, the calm width of the White Nile beside a small, orderly town.

Riverside grid
Streets form regular blocks set back from the bank, a simple and legible pattern that reads well in black and white.
Irrigated fields
Channels and field edges along the river create a fine pattern of lines, fading into open dry land further out.
