关于地图
Alexandroupoli Map Poster & Print
Alexandroupoli lies on the northern coast of the Aegean in Greek Thrace, not far from the Evros delta and the Turkish border. The city is laid out in a mostly regular grid set parallel to a long, straight shoreline. A seafront promenade runs along the water, the port forms a clear geometric shape at the edge, and hills rise gently inland.
The town was founded relatively recently, in the nineteenth century, originally under the name Dedeağaç, and took its present name in the 1920s. Its lighthouse on the waterfront is the city's main symbol, and the port and railway connect it to the rest of Thrace and to the islands, including Samothrace.
An Alexandroupoli map poster balances the even grid with the clean line of the coast. The sea occupies a broad part of the frame, the port's piers project into it, and the city's streets meet the water at right angles. It is a calm and orderly image with a strong horizontal composition.

Port and piers
The harbour's breakwaters and quays form sharp geometric shapes at the water's edge, a clear focal point in the design.
Regular grid
The city's relatively recent founding shows in its orderly block pattern, which spreads evenly back from the sea.

为什么选 Alexandroupoli
一张有意义的地图
Alexandroupoli is home for many in Thrace and a starting point for ferries to Samothrace. A map of the seafront grid is a good reminder of summers, studies or a family house by the sea.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be changed, for example to mark a year or a street. The poster comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
