关于地图
Alor Setar Map Poster & Print
Alor Setar, capital of Kedah, lies on the flat northwestern plain of Peninsular Malaysia, and its map is defined by water and farmland. The Kedah River winds through the town toward the coast, joined by smaller streams, and the historic centre sits close to its banks. Around this core, straight roads lead out across a wide landscape of rice fields.
Near the heart of town, the grounds of the Zahir Mosque, the Balai Besar royal audience hall and the main square form a cluster of open spaces. The Alor Setar Tower rises nearby as a modern landmark. An Alor Setar map poster presents this compact royal centre in a tight network of streets, fading gradually into long rural roads and the regular divisions of paddy land.
Kedah is often called the rice bowl of Malaysia, and the fields around the city produce a large share of the country's rice. Alor Setar has been the royal capital of Kedah since the eighteenth century, was declared a city in 2003, and is the birthplace of Mahathir Mohamad, who twice served as prime minister of Malaysia.
