Hill-shaped streets
The roads follow the ridges and slopes instead of a grid. This gives the map flowing, irregular lines.

关于地图
Amargosa Map Poster & Print
Amargosa stands on high ground west of the Recôncavo in Bahia. Its street plan follows the terrain rather than a strict grid. Roads climb and curve around hills, and they open into squares where the ground levels out. Around the town, the land breaks into farms and wooded slopes.
The town is known across Bahia for its São João festival. Every June it brings large crowds to the streets and squares for forró music and bonfires. The rest of the year it is a regional centre for the agricultural hinterland, and its core is compact enough to walk across.
On paper, a Amargosa map poster captures the town's hilltop character. Streets bend with the terrain, the town has a clear centre, and its edges thin out into the countryside. The line work is irregular without being chaotic, and it looks especially good in the warmer tones of the Paper or Sand styles.

Festival squares
The central squares, which fill up during São João, form the open heart of the street network.
Rural edge
Beyond the last streets, roads run out into farmland and wooded hills. On the map, the town appears as a compact island of lines.
