Planned grid
Large, regular blocks of microdistricts give Amursk a strict, geometric layout, typical of new Soviet towns of the late 1950s and 1960s.

关于地图
Amursk Map Poster & Print
Amursk lies on the left bank of the Amur River in Khabarovsk Krai, south of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. It was founded in 1958 as a planned industrial town, and its map clearly shows that origin: a compact, regular grid of large blocks and microdistricts, laid out on a terrace above the river.
The Amur here is wide and split into channels, backwaters and islands, forming a complex water pattern along one side of the town. Industrial areas, including the site of the pulp and cardboard mill around which the town was built, sit apart from the residential districts. Beyond them, forest and wetland stretch in every direction.
Amursk was built largely by young volunteers and still keeps the ordered layout of its planners, with wide avenues and blocks arranged around courtyards. An Amursk map poster shows that plan set against the untamed river and taiga of the Russian Far East.

Forest and wetland surround the town closely. The open space around the grid makes its outline sharp and clear.

为什么选 Amursk
一张有意义的地图
Amursk is for people who grew up in its courtyards, families of those who built it and anyone interested in Soviet town planning. The contrast of a strict grid and a wild river makes a strong map.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, in Russian or any language. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the planned layout.
