Anekal Map Poster & Print
Anekal is a town south of Bengaluru, close to the Tamil Nadu border near Hosur. Its name is usually explained as 'elephant stone' in Kannada. It serves as the headquarters of a taluk that has changed rapidly in recent decades as the metropolitan area has pushed south.
The old town is small and compact, with narrow streets around its centre. The wider taluk includes Electronic City, one of Bengaluru's major technology hubs, and Bannerghatta National Park to the west. Scattered tanks, the man-made lakes typical of the Karnataka plateau, lie between the settlements.
An Anekal map poster shows a town still recognisable as itself, with a dense traditional core and the roads leading out of it, as new layouts and developments approach from the city. The tanks add rounded shapes of water. In black and white, the map captures a place in transition between rural town and suburb.
