Anshing is a town in the Washim district of Maharashtra, in the Vidarbha region on the Deccan plateau. Seen from above, it forms a compact knot of streets where several country roads meet, with the settlement thinning quickly into cultivated land on every side. The map gives a good sense of how a rural market town is organised around its junctions rather than a planned grid.
The center is made of narrow, irregular lanes and closely packed plots, the kind of pattern that grows over generations rather than being drawn at once. Around it, the land is divided into fields, and the fine lines of farm tracks spread outward toward neighbouring villages.
