关于地图
Apia Map Poster & Print
Apia stretches along the north coast of Upolu, the second-largest island of Samoa, around a small natural harbour. On the map the town is long and low. It follows Beach Road as the road curves around the waterfront, with the Mulinu'u peninsula extending to the west and the Vaisigano River reaching the sea close to the centre.
Behind the coastal strip, roads run inland in loose parallel lines toward the forested slopes of the interior, forming a series of villages and neighbourhoods rather than a single dense centre. Mulinu'u, a slim tongue of land, holds the parliament and other government sites. Offshore, a reef encloses much of the harbour, and its edge shows as a separate line in the water.
In 1889 a cyclone struck Apia harbour and wrecked several German and American warships at anchor there. On the slopes above the town is Vailima, the last home of the writer Robert Louis Stevenson, who is buried on nearby Mount Vaea. An Apia map poster draws this quiet capital, with its harbour, peninsula and rising hills, in balanced black and white.

Mulinu'u peninsula
A narrow strip of land extending west of the centre and home to parliament and government buildings. It is drawn as a slender finger reaching into the sea.
Roads to the hills
Streets run inland from the coast toward the rainforest and Vailima, creating long, gently climbing lines across the southern half of the map.

为什么选 Apia
一张有意义的地图
Samoans living in New Zealand, Australia and the United States often keep a strong tie to Apia, as do readers of Stevenson and travellers who stayed longer than they planned. A map of the harbour town is a calm, lasting way to mark that connection.
Personalise the title and add a subtitle with a village, a family name or a date, then adjust the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, and download six print sizes as PNG and PDF or order a printed poster.
