Ara Damansara lies in the southwest of Petaling Jaya, Selangor, right beside Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, better known as Subang Airport. It was developed as a mixed township of houses, condominiums and commercial blocks. On a map, its most striking neighbour is the long, straight runway, a bold shape set against the finer pattern of the streets.
The Kelana Jaya LRT line runs through the area and has its own Ara Damansara station. The township also connects to the expressways that crisscross this part of the Klang Valley.
