Central road loop
A compact ring of road encloses the old town centre, making the historic core easy to pick out as a small, dense oval in the middle of the map.

关于地图
Ashford Map Poster & Print
Ashford lies in the Weald of Kent, where several branches of the Great Stour river come together. From above, the town centre is surrounded by a tight loop of road that once served as a one-way ring and was later reworked into a shared-space scheme. Inside it is a small, older core, while outside it the town spreads widely in every direction.
Ashford is a railway town at heart. Several lines converge here, and the station is a stop on the high-speed line to London. The rails, the M20 motorway to the north and the river corridors cut the map into distinct sectors, with newer housing estates forming curving roads and cul-de-sacs around the older streets.
The river valleys have been kept largely as green space, giving the map long bands of open ground that run through the built-up area. An Ashford map poster shows a town with a clear centre ringed by roads, surrounded by modern growth and held together by the lines of rail, river and motorway.

Converging rail lines
Several railway lines meet near the station, crossing the town in long, straight or gently curving strokes that divide it into recognisable districts.
Great Stour corridors
The branches of the Great Stour run through Ashford with green margins on either side, leaving open ribbons that break up the suburban street pattern.
