The narrow isthmus
A slim strip of land joins the island's eastern and western halves. On the map it is the point everything pivots on, with bays pressing in closely from both sides.

关于地图
Astypalaia Map Poster & Print
Astypalaia sits at the western edge of the Dodecanese, between the Cyclades and the rest of its island group. Its outline is one of the most recognisable in Greece: two broad, rugged halves joined by a thin neck of land barely wide enough for a road. Deep bays open to the north and south of the isthmus, and the coast elsewhere is cut into many smaller inlets.
The main settlement, Chora, climbs a hill above the harbour and is crowned by a Venetian-era castle, with a line of windmills along the ridge. On a map the town is a tight knot of lanes stacked against the slope, while the rest of the island is lightly marked, crossed by a few roads that follow the valleys to scattered beaches.
An Astypalaia map poster makes the butterfly shape the subject. The isthmus falls near the centre of the frame, the two wings spread to either side, and the ragged coastline carries most of the detail. Around it, the white sea leaves a generous margin that suits the island's spare, open landscape.

Chora and the castle
The whitewashed town spills down a hill from its Venetian castle toward the harbour. From above it reads as a dense cluster of short lanes set against open slopes.
Windmill ridge
A row of old windmills lines the high ground at the edge of Chora. They sit along the town's upper streets, just before the buildings give way to hillside.

为什么选 Astypalaia
一张有意义的地图
Astypalaia tends to belong to people who have found it on purpose: a summer on the island, a return to a family village, or a slow crossing of the Aegean. Its outline is distinctive enough to recognise across a room.
Put a name, a year or a favourite beach in the title and subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Classic black and white suits the whitewashed island, and Noir makes the butterfly shape stand out against a dark sea.
