关于地图
Awendo Map Poster & Print
Awendo is in Migori County, in southwestern Kenya, in the farming country east of Lake Victoria. The town is closely linked to sugar. The South Nyanza Sugar Company, usually known as Sony Sugar, has its factory here, and sugarcane is the main crop across much of the surrounding land. Its influence shows on the map.
The town centre is compact, with a small network of streets around the main road and market. Beyond it, cane fields and smallholdings spread out in long, regular parcels, and farm roads run through them to carry cane to the mill. The factory site forms a large, clearly defined block that is easy to distinguish from the residential streets.
An Awendo map poster shows a town organised around one industry. The small centre, the factory and the cane fields around it all fit into one frame. In black and white, the long field parcels form strong parallel lines, giving the print a calm, rhythmic look.

Cane parcels
Sugarcane farms spread around the town in long, regular plots. Their boundaries create a pattern of parallel lines across much of the poster.
Farm roads
Tracks run out from the town and the factory through the farmland. They trace the routes that carry cane to the mill each harvest season.

为什么选 Awendo
一张有意义的地图
For people who grew up in Awendo or worked in the sugar industry, this map records a place defined by the rhythm of the harvest. It also makes a good gift for relatives in Nairobi or abroad who still think of the town as home.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a date or a message. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand gives the print a warm, earthy tone.
