Bābolsar Map Poster & Print
Bābolsar lies on the southern shore of the Caspian Sea in Māzandarān province, northern Iran, at the mouth of the Babol River. Its map is framed by water: the sea forms a clean edge along the north, while the river curves through the town before reaching the coast. Behind it stretches the fertile, green coastal plain of Māzandarān, with the Alborz mountains rising farther to the south.
The town has long been known as a seaside destination for Iranians, with beaches and waterfront walks along the Caspian. It is also home to the University of Mazandaran, whose campus adds a large, distinct parcel to the plan. The street pattern responds to both of its watery edges, orienting partly toward the shore and partly toward the riverbanks.
