Bahār Map Poster & Print
Bahār lies in Hamadan Province in western Iran, a short distance northwest of the city of Hamadan. It sits on a high, open plain at well over a thousand metres, where the land is mostly given to farming. From above, the town forms a compact centre of streets and walled compounds, surrounded by fields, orchards and the straight lines of irrigation.
The town serves as the administrative centre of its county and as a market for the villages around it. Winters on this plateau are cold and summers dry, and the pattern of cultivation reflects that climate, with water carefully channelled across the plain. On clear days, ridges of the Zagros ranges are visible across the flat land.
