关于地图
Bakhmach Map Poster & Print
Bakhmach is a town in Chernihiv Oblast, in the north of Ukraine, on the broad, gently rolling plain east of the Dnipro. Its surroundings are farmland and small villages, with fields reaching almost to the edge of town. On a map Bakhmach shows a network of straight streets, and running through it all are the railway lines that gave the town its importance.
Bakhmach grew as a railway junction, where lines linking Kyiv with the north and east of the country meet. Tracks, sidings and station buildings take up a large part of the town. The junction also played a role in history: in 1918 it was the site of a battle in which the Czechoslovak Legion held off German forces while securing its route east.
A Bakhmach map poster makes the railway its central subject. The long parallel lines of track, the curves where routes branch off and the rail yards cut across the grid of residential streets, creating a composition full of direction and movement. It is a distinctive image for anyone connected to the town or to the railways that pass through it.

Street grid
Residential areas are laid out in mostly straight streets and regular plots, a calm pattern of blocks that surrounds and contrasts with the long lines of the railway.
Open plain
Beyond the town, farmland stretches across level ground, crossed by country roads and field boundaries that give the edges of the map a quiet, spacious feel.
