A few main roads
A small number of wider roads cross the town and give the map its structure. Everything else hangs off them, so they read as the clear spine of the print.

关于地图
Bamba Map Poster
From above, Bamba reads as a small cluster rather than a grid. A handful of main roads run through the town, and a finer web of lanes and compound walls fills the space between them. Toward the edges the lines thin out quickly, and the map gives way to open ground where only a few tracks continue.
Towns like this in Mali grew around markets, crossroads and water, not surveyors' plans. That shows on the map as uneven blocks, curving tracks and open spaces where people meet and trade. The streets follow habit and terrain more than geometry, so the pattern is irregular in a way that feels lived-in rather than planned.
A Bamba map poster keeps that looseness intact. Rendered in black and white, the few strong roads carry the composition while the smaller lanes add texture around them. The result is quiet and spacious, with plenty of blank paper showing how thinly the town is drawn into the land around it.

Irregular lanes
Between the main roads, short lanes bend around compounds and open yards. On paper they form an uneven, hand-drawn texture that is quite unlike a planned street grid.
Open edges
At the edge of town the line work fades into tracks and empty space. That blank margin is part of the image and frames the settlement as a small, self-contained place.

为什么选 Bamba
一张有意义的地图
A map of Bamba is a personal choice, usually made by someone who has lived there, has family there or once worked there. It records the shape of the place plainly, without leaning on landmarks, and that restraint suits a small town well.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a year, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9, and printed posters on matte paper, framed if you like, ship from partners in 30+ countries.
