The Erft river
The Erft winds through Bedburg in a series of gentle bends, accompanied by channels and green strips that make a flowing counterpoint to the straight streets and field edges nearby.

关于地图
Bedburg Map Poster & Print
Bedburg lies in the Rhineland between Cologne and Mönchengladbach, along the Erft, a small river that curves through the flat country west of the Rhine. From above, the town reads as a modest core with low-density streets spreading outward, crossed by rail and road lines and edged by open fields. The river and its green banks draw a soft, irregular line through an otherwise measured pattern.
The land around Bedburg has been heavily shaped by lignite mining. Open-pit mines changed the terrain across this part of North Rhine-Westphalia, and some villages in the area were relocated to make room for them. On a map, this shows up as broad, sparsely built zones and newer, carefully laid-out settlements. Reclaimed land to the north now carries wind turbines, a sign of how the region's energy landscape is changing.
A Bedburg map poster turns this layered landscape into clean black lines on white. The old town, the course of the Erft and the outlying districts each keep their own texture, from tight historic lanes to the orderly geometry of rebuilt villages. The town is also remembered for a notorious sixteenth-century trial that left it a place in European folklore, a story often retold.

Moated castle grounds
Schloss Bedburg sits close to the river, a castle once protected by water. On the map its grounds form a distinct enclosed shape near the centre of town.
Reclaimed mining land
Around the town, land reshaped by lignite mining appears as wide, open areas and planned settlements, a clear record of how the landscape has been rebuilt over recent decades.
