关于地图
Belidzhi Map Poster & Print
Belidzhi is an urban-type settlement in the Derbent district of Dagestan, in Russia's far south. It lies on the lowland strip between the Caspian Sea and the eastern foothills of the Greater Caucasus. This narrow corridor has long carried the main route between the north Caucasus and the countries to the south, and on a map the road and railway run through the settlement side by side.
The settlement's streets form a practical pattern of residential blocks and household plots arranged along the transport lines. Around them lie orchards, vineyards and cultivated fields, the characteristic farmland of the southern Dagestan plain. To the east the land runs down towards the sea, and to the west the terrain rises gradually towards the hills.
A Belidzhi map poster records a place defined by its position on a corridor, with the mountains on one side and the Caspian on the other. The railway gives the drawing a strong spine. The garden plots and field boundaries add a finer texture around it, with more variety than an ordinary small-town grid.

Coastal plain
Belidzhi sits on the lowland between the sea and the foothills, a narrow band of flat land shown by open space and regular field lines.
Gardens and plots
Orchards and household gardens surround the houses. They break the settlement's edges into small parcels, which gives the map a patchwork of lines.

为什么选 Belidzhi
一张有意义的地图
People from Belidzhi who have settled elsewhere often keep a strong tie to the town and its gardens. A map of its streets, with the railway through the middle, makes a restrained reminder of that home on the southern edge of the country.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to edit. Add a family name or a year if you wish. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Order the poster printed or download the HD files for $9.
