关于地图
Beppu Map Poster & Print
Beppu is one of Japan's best-known hot-spring towns, stretched along the western shore of Beppu Bay in Oita Prefecture. The city covers a broad slope that rises from the water toward Mount Tsurumi and other volcanic peaks. On a map the streets fan out across this incline, dense near the coast and thinning as the ground climbs.
The flat strip by the sea holds the station, the shopping arcades and a regular grid of blocks, and the shoreline is drawn as a long, gentle curve. Higher up, districts such as Kannawa follow winding roads. This is where the steam vents and the famous hot pools called the hells, or jigoku, are concentrated.
Several streams run straight down the slope to the bay, dividing the city into long, narrow sections, and a university campus sits on the heights above it all. A Beppu map poster captures this rare combination of mountain, town and sea on a single incline, a shape formed by the same volcanic activity that heats its springs.

Hillside streets
Roads climb from the shore toward the mountains in long diagonals and bends, and the grid gradually loosens as the slope behind the city steepens.
Kannawa district
The hot-spring quarter of Kannawa sits on the upper slopes, a cluster of small, irregular streets around the hells where steam rises from the ground.

为什么选 Beppu
一张有意义的地图
Beppu is a place people return to, for the baths, the views across the bay or the years spent studying on the hill. A map print holds the whole incline in one image, from the sea to the steaming upper town.
Give it a title and subtitle of your own, perhaps the date of a trip, edit the coordinates line and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Six HD sizes cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
