Tidal shoreline
Creeks, mudflats and salt pans along the Gulf of Khambhat give the eastern side of the map a delicate, fractured outline unlike a clean coastline.

关于地图
Bhavnagar Map Poster & Print
Bhavnagar stands on the eastern side of the Saurashtra peninsula in Gujarat, facing the Gulf of Khambhat. It was founded in the 1720s by Bhavsinhji Gohil as the capital of a princely state, and it grew into an important port for cotton and other goods. The tidal waters of the gulf have always shaped the city's relationship with the sea.
On a map the eastern edge dissolves into creeks, mudflats and salt pans, where land and water are hard to separate. Inland, the older centre is tightly packed, and later districts spread outward in wider streets. Gaurishankar Lake, also called Bor Talav, lies on the western side of the city and forms one of its largest open spaces.
To the south of Bhavnagar, within the same district, lies Alang, known for one of the world's largest ship-breaking yards. A Bhavnagar map poster brings together the dense urban centre, the broad expanse of the lake and the fragmented shoreline, so the city appears as a place that sits on the threshold between land and tidal water.

Gaurishankar Lake
This large reservoir on the western edge of the city appears as a broad pale shape, balancing the dense streets of the centre.
Old city core
The compact streets of the former princely capital form the densest part of the map, with newer, more open districts spreading outward from it.

为什么选 Bhavnagar
一张有意义的地图
Bhavnagar has a strong sense of identity, and many of its people have moved far from the Gulf of Khambhat. A map of the city is a way to carry that coastline and those familiar streets into a new home.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the 300 DPI files for $9 or have a matte print shipped from a partner in over 30 countries.
