关于地图
Boa Viagem Map Poster & Print
Boa Viagem lies in the interior of Ceará, in the semi-arid sertão of northeastern Brazil. From above the town is a small, dense grid surrounded by wide open land covered in caatinga scrub, crossed by unpaved roads that lead out to farms and outlying communities.
The name means good journey, a fitting name for a town in a region where distances are long and water is scarce. As across much of the sertão, reservoirs known as açudes dot the landscape. They show on the map as irregular shapes scattered across the dry terrain.
A Boa Viagem map poster is a study in contrast between a tight urban core and a sparse surrounding landscape. The regular blocks of the centre, the roads radiating outward and the scattered bodies of water make a spare composition that reflects the scale and quiet of Ceará's interior.

Açudes
Reservoirs built to store water through the dry season appear across the surrounding countryside, their irregular outlines adding organic shapes to an otherwise sparse map.
Radiating roads
Roads and tracks lead out from the town in several directions, linking it with rural districts and neighbouring municipalities across the sertão.

为什么选 Boa Viagem
一张有意义的地图
For people from Boa Viagem, and for the many Cearenses who have moved to Fortaleza or southern Brazil, this map is a direct link back to the interior. Its sparse layout gives it a calm, graphic presence on the wall.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line and add a date such as a family event or the year you left. The styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand echoes the colours of the sertão.
