Numbered sectors
The township is split into distinct residential sectors, each with its own internal streets. On the poster they read as tidy separate modules along wide avenues.

关于地图
Bokāro Map Poster & Print
Bokāro was built around a single industry, and the map shows its planning clearly. The residential township is divided into numbered sectors, each with its own internal street pattern and set apart from the others by wide roads and green spaces. To one side lies the vast steel plant, a large, geometric industrial zone whose layout is quite different from the housing areas.
The city grew up in the 1960s and 1970s with the construction of the Bokaro Steel Plant, one of India's largest public-sector steelworks. It is often called Bokaro Steel City. A reservoir on the edge of the township adds a broad sheet of water, and the Damodar river flows a short distance away through a region known for coal and heavy industry.
A Bokāro map poster captures the distinctive order of a planned industrial town. The sectors sit side by side like pieces of a diagram, separated by broad avenues, with the industrial complex forming a strong block of straight lines nearby. For people who grew up in the steel township, it is an exact picture of a very particular place.

Steel plant
The industrial complex takes up a large area next to the township. Its straight lines and large rectangular blocks contrast clearly with the housing sectors.
Reservoir
A body of water on the edge of the township gives the composition a broad open shape. It softens the planned geometry of the surrounding streets.

为什么选 Bokāro
一张有意义的地图
Many families moved to Bokāro to work at the plant, and their children grew up in its sectors before moving elsewhere. A map of the township recalls that shared childhood more precisely than any photograph.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, perhaps with a sector number. Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits a planned industrial city.
