Cártama Map Poster & Print
Cártama lies in the Guadalhorce valley, a short drive inland from Málaga, and its map shows an unusual double shape. The historic village climbs the slope of a hill crowned by castle ruins, its streets narrow and winding, while Estación de Cártama, which grew up around the railway, spreads across the level valley floor with a looser, more regular layout.
The hill is also home to the hermitage of the Virgen de los Remedios, the town's patron, reached by a steep climb from the streets below. The valley around the town is fertile farmland planted with citrus orchards, and the Guadalhorce river runs through it on its way to the Mediterranean.
A Cártama map poster works best when it includes both parts of the town, with the river and fields between them. The contrast between the tangled old streets on the hill and the ordered blocks on the plain makes for a map with real character.
