The tidal creek
An inlet from the Indian Ocean reaches towards the town from the west, and its winding, mangrove-fringed shoreline gives the map an irregular, organic edge.

关于地图
Chake Chake Map Poster & Print
Chake Chake is the chief town of Pemba, the greener and hillier northern island of the Zanzibar archipelago. It lies on the island's west side, near the head of a creek that reaches in from the Indian Ocean, and the outline of that inlet is one of the first things you see on a map of the town.
The town sits on higher ground above the water. Its streets follow the ridge, and lanes drop towards the shoreline and the mangroves. Beyond the centre, roads fan out across rolling country towards other parts of the island. Pemba is well known for clove cultivation, and plantations and smallholdings surround the settlement.
A Chake Chake map poster puts an island town in its setting: coastline, creek and ridge together. In black and white, the uneven edge of the tidal water contrasts with the more regular streets of the centre. For people with ties to Pemba, it records a place that is rarely printed at this level of detail.

为什么选 Chake Chake
一张有意义的地图
Pemba is often in the shadow of Unguja and Stone Town, yet it has a distinct geography. For islanders and for visitors who spent time there, a map of Chake Chake is a precise, personal souvenir of the island's main town.
Personalise it with a title, a subtitle and the coordinates line, and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files carry no watermark, and matte printed posters are available with or without a wooden frame.
