关于地图
Colinas do Tocantins Map Poster & Print
Colinas do Tocantins lies in the north of Tocantins, one of Brazil's youngest states, in a landscape of cerrado savanna and low rolling hills, which is what the name refers to. From above, the town is a clear grid of blocks, broken where the terrain or a stream valley forces a change of angle.
The BR-153, the long Belém–Brasília highway that opened up this part of Brazil's interior, runs along the town. It has shaped how Colinas grew, as a service and trade centre for surrounding ranches and farms. Like many towns along this corridor, it reflects the pattern of settlement that followed the road in the second half of the twentieth century.
A Colinas do Tocantins map poster has a pleasing regularity: rows of blocks, a few diagonal avenues, and edges where the town gives way to fields and scrub. The highway runs past it as a strong, long line. It is a graphic, almost architectural map that captures a very different Brazil from the coast.

Highway corridor
The Belém–Brasília highway runs as a continuous line along the town. It explains where Colinas grew and why it matters in the region.
Open edges
The grid stops abruptly at the surrounding cerrado and farmland. The crisp outline this gives the town looks good framed on a wall.
