Correia Pinto is in the Serra Catarinense, the high plateau of southern Brazil, a short distance north of Lages. The landscape here is rolling and open, with cool winters, grassland and stands of pine. On a map, the town stretches along the BR-116 highway, which runs north to south and forms the main spine of the settlement.
Residential streets branch away from the highway into a compact grid, with the edges of town quickly giving way to farm roads, forestry plantations and small watercourses in the valleys.
