Pentagonal plaza
The central square has five sides, and streets leave it in several directions, creating a star-like pattern that is instantly recognisable on the map.

关于地图
Coyhaique Map Poster & Print
Coyhaique is the capital of Chile's Aysén region and the largest town in that sparsely populated part of Patagonia. It sits on a terrace near the confluence of the Coyhaique and Simpson rivers, with steep hills and mountain slopes on several sides. From above, the town fills its terrace neatly, bounded by water and rising ground.
Its most distinctive feature is the Plaza de Armas, which is pentagonal rather than square. Streets radiate from it in a pattern unlike most Chilean towns, where a rectangular grid is the norm. Founded in the twentieth century as a service centre for the ranching country around it, Coyhaique grew outward from this plan into the surrounding valley.
A Coyhaique map poster makes that pentagon the centre of attention. The radiating streets, the curving rivers and the slopes at the town's edges combine into a composition with both geometry and wildness, well suited to anyone who has travelled the Carretera Austral or spent time in the valleys and mountains of southern Chile.

River confluence
The Simpson and Coyhaique rivers meet close to the town, their valleys framing the urban area and adding broad natural curves to the composition.
Carretera Austral
The southern highway runs by the town, a thin line linking Coyhaique with the scattered settlements of northern Patagonia and the long journey south.

为什么选 Coyhaique
一张有意义的地图
Travellers who drove the Carretera Austral often remember Coyhaique as the place to rest and resupply. For them, and for people from Aysén, a map of the town recalls wide landscapes and long journeys, fitting for a hallway or study.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a trip or a home. Choose one of five styles, with Blueprint and Noir suiting the geometric centre especially well. Get the $9 HD files in six sizes, or order a matte print, framed if you prefer.
