Curti lies in Ponda taluka, in the interior of Goa, right beside the town of Ponda. Away from the coastline most visitors know, this part of the state is hillier and greener, with laterite uplands, valleys and plantations. On a map, Curti looks less like a single core than a spread of homes and lanes woven into that landscape.
Roads here tend to follow ridges and valley floors, curving and branching as they go. Houses cluster along them in loose strings, with open, planted ground between. Where Curti meets Ponda the pattern becomes denser, and the lines of the map thicken into a more urban fabric of junctions, shops and closely spaced buildings.
