Hillside blocks
Streets bend and step to follow the slopes, so apartment blocks sit at shifting angles and the map has a lively, irregular texture.

关于地图
Damaia Map Poster & Print
Damaia is part of the municipality of Amadora, directly west of Lisbon, in one of the most densely built areas of Portugal. On a map it appears as a tightly packed district of apartment blocks and short streets, following the uneven ground of the hills that rise and fall across this part of the metropolitan area.
Much of Damaia grew quickly in the second half of the twentieth century, as Lisbon expanded outward, and the plan reflects that growth. Blocks are set at varied angles, streets change direction to fit the terrain, and large roads and rail lines mark the boundaries between neighbourhoods. Small parks and open patches break up the density here and there.
A Damaia map poster shows how a suburb can have its own distinct texture. In black and white, the close grain of the streets becomes an intricate pattern, while the broad arteries around the district form strong frames. It is a map for people who know the area closely and recognise every turn of its hilly streets.

Framing roads
Major roads and rail corridors bound the district, forming heavy lines that separate Damaia from neighbouring parts of Amadora and Lisbon.
Pockets of green
Small gardens and open spaces appear between the dense housing, giving the composition welcome pauses in an otherwise tightly drawn area.

为什么选 Damaia
一张有意义的地图
Damaia is home to a varied community, and many families have lived here across generations or arrived from elsewhere to build new lives. A map of the neighbourhood is a personal way to mark that belonging.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are editable, so you can add a street, a family name or a date. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
