A broken chain
Ilhéu Chão, Deserta Grande and Bugio line up one after another, separated by narrow channels, so the group reads as a single ridge broken by the sea.

关于地图
Desertas Islands Map Poster & Print
The Desertas Islands lie southeast of Madeira in the Atlantic and are part of the Madeira archipelago. There are three of them: the small, flat-topped Ilhéu Chão in the north, the long Deserta Grande in the middle and Bugio in the south. Together they form a slim chain running roughly north to south, with steep cliffs dropping straight into the sea on almost every side.
The islands are a protected nature reserve, and no one lives there apart from wardens. They are one of the last refuges of the Mediterranean monk seal, which breeds in caves along the shore. Deserta Grande is also home to a large wolf spider found nowhere else. Landing is tightly controlled, and most visitors see the islands only from a boat or from Madeira's coast.
A Desertas Islands map poster is almost pure outline. There is no road grid, just three long shapes in open ocean, their edges sharp where the cliffs fall away. It makes a restrained, elegant companion to a map of Madeira or Funchal, or a print in its own right for anyone who admires wild coastlines.

Deserta Grande
The largest of the three islands is long and slender. Its steep sides give it a knife-edge outline that dominates the middle of the composition.
Monk seal coast
The rugged shoreline, with sea caves at its base, shelters a small colony of Mediterranean monk seals within the protected reserve.

为什么选 Desertas Islands
一张有意义的地图
From Madeira's southeast coast, the Desertas are a line on the horizon that visitors remember long after the trip. A poster of them suits naturalists, sailors and anyone who likes maps where the land is almost pure silhouette.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the composition first, and the full HD set of six print sizes costs $9.
