North–south highway
The main road from Algiers to the Sahara runs straight through Djelfa. Its strong line organises the town and gives the poster a central axis.

关于地图
Djelfa Map Poster & Print
Djelfa lies in the high steppe of central Algeria, between Algiers and the Sahara, more than a thousand metres above sea level. The town sits in a broad valley, with the ridges of the Ouled Naïl mountains, part of the Saharan Atlas, rising nearby. From above, its streets fill open, gently sloping ground with little water or forest to break them up.
The national road running south from Algiers toward Laghouat and the Sahara passes through the town and gives it a strong north–south axis. Around the older centre, planned districts of regular blocks have spread quickly in recent decades, and at the edges of the map new housing meets bare ground. The contrast between the built grid and the empty steppe gives the plan a stark clarity.
The surrounding region is known for herding, especially sheep, and for the cold winters and hot summers of the high plateaux. A Djelfa map poster shows the town as it sits in that landscape: a dense grid, a long highway, and the quiet expanse of steppe and hills around it.

Expanding grid
Newer districts spread out in regular blocks around the older core. They record the town's recent growth and fill much of the poster with orderly street patterns.
Steppe edges
At the edges, the streets end abruptly at open ground. The white space this leaves on the poster reflects the empty steppe and hills around the town.
