The Yenisei bank
The town follows the right bank of one of Siberia's great rivers, which is very wide at this point and dominates the western edge of any framing of the map.

关于地图
Dudinka Map Poster & Print
Dudinka sits on the east bank of the Yenisei where the smaller Dudinka River joins it, well north of the Arctic Circle. From above, the town is a compact cluster of blocks set back from a long industrial waterfront. Beyond the last streets the map empties almost at once into tundra, lakes and meandering channels, so the built area looks small against the scale of the river.
The port is the reason the town exists. It serves as the river and sea gateway for the Norilsk industrial district, and a railway and road run east from Dudinka toward Norilsk across open, frozen ground. On a map that single line of transport leaving town is one of the few straight marks in a landscape of curved water and scattered lakes.
A Dudinka map poster shows a settlement shaped by permafrost and ice. Buildings here traditionally stand on piles above the frozen soil, and the river is closed by ice for a large part of the year. What reads as a quiet grid on paper is one of the northernmost towns of its size, the administrative centre of the Taymyr district.

Port waterfront
Quays, cranes and storage yards line the riverbank, forming a long band of industrial geometry that contrasts with the smaller residential blocks inland.
Tundra and lakes
Past the edge of town the map turns into a scatter of small lakes and winding streams, the typical pattern of Arctic lowland seen from above.

为什么选 Dudinka
一张有意义的地图
People who have worked in the far north, served here or grew up on the Taymyr often want something that holds the scale of the place. A river this wide and a town this remote make a sparse, graphic print that stands apart from the usual city maps on a wall.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a date or a name, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint and Noir suit the cold, open geometry of the river well.
