Juruá meanders
The river makes tight loops across the landscape. On the poster these curves are the strongest shapes and surround the town on the outside of a bend.

关于地图
Eirunepé Map Poster & Print
Eirunepé is a town in the far west of Amazonas state in Brazil, on the Juruá River. The Juruá is one of the most winding rivers in the Amazon basin. On a map, it forms tight loops and oxbow lakes in the forest, and the town occupies a small section of higher bank on one of its curves.
There is no road connecting Eirunepé to the rest of Brazil. Travel depends on the river and on flights. The town serves as a centre for the communities along the middle Juruá, and boats of different sizes tie up along its waterfront. Its streets form a compact grid that ends where the forest begins.
A Eirunepé map poster shows a town completely shaped by water. The Juruá bends around it, old channels mark where the river used to run, and the grid of streets looks very small in the middle of all that forest. It is a striking and unusual map for any wall.

Oxbow lakes
Old parts of the river have been cut off into crescent-shaped lakes. They show how the Juruá has changed course over time.
Riverbank grid
The town's streets form a compact grid on the riverbank, with the waterfront along one side. Its regular lines contrast with the curving river around it.

为什么选 Eirunepé
一张有意义的地图
A map of Eirunepé is rare, and that is part of its appeal. For people from the Juruá or anyone who has travelled there by boat, it shows the town and river as few printed maps do.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, for example a year or a family name. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 files include 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF for six sizes, with no watermark.
