El Arahal, usually written simply as Arahal, lies in the Campiña of Seville province, the gently rolling farmland east of the city. The town is compact. Its older streets are irregular and close together, a pattern often traced back to Andalusia's Moorish period, and newer districts spread around them in a more orderly way.
The land around Arahal is best known for olives. Large groves and cultivated fields cover the countryside in every direction. On a map they appear as broad, open areas crossed by rural roads and tracks that lead toward the neighbouring towns of the campiña.
