关于地图
El Fasher Map Poster & Print
El Fasher is the capital of North Darfur and one of the oldest urban centres in western Sudan. From above it is a sprawl of low buildings and walled compounds, with unpaved streets forming an irregular grid that dissolves gradually into open, semi-arid land. A seasonal wadi crosses the town, filling with water after the summer rains and leaving a clear mark on the map.
The town became the seat of the Darfur Sultanate in the late eighteenth century, and the palace of Sultan Ali Dinar, the last ruler before the region was annexed in 1916, still stands and has served as a museum. Markets, mosques and government buildings cluster near the historic centre, while roads leave in several directions toward Nyala, Kutum and the wider region.
In recent years El Fasher has endured a long siege and severe destruction during Sudan's civil war, and many of its residents have been displaced. An El Fasher map poster can be a way to keep the city's shape close, a record of home drawn from its streets, for those who now hold it in memory from afar.

Sultan's palace
The palace of Ali Dinar stands near the historic centre, a reminder of the Darfur Sultanate and a fixed point from which the older streets of the town spread out.
Edge of the plain
Toward the outskirts, compounds grow sparser and tracks fan out into open land, giving the poster a gentle fade from dense centre to wide, empty space.

为什么选 El Fasher
一张有意义的地图
For many Sudanese families, El Fasher is a hometown they may not be able to return to soon. A framed map keeps its streets and landmarks present in a new home, and offers something quiet to share with children.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be written as you wish, such as a neighbourhood, a family name or a date that matters. Choose among five styles, from Classic black and white to the warmer Paper and Sand.
