Thomas Viaduct
The curved stone railroad bridge spans the Patapsco at Elkridge. Built in 1835, it is still in use, and on the map it marks the point where rail meets river.

关于地图
Elkridge Map Poster & Print
Elkridge lies in Howard County, Maryland, between Baltimore and Washington, where the Patapsco River leaves its wooded valley and heads toward the Chesapeake Bay. On a map the river forms the community's northern edge, while highways and rail lines cross the area in long, confident lines, and suburban streets spread out in loops and cul-de-sacs to the south.
Elkridge is one of the oldest settlements in the region, founded as a colonial port for shipping tobacco. It is also home to the Thomas Viaduct, completed in 1835 for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and still carrying trains today. Its curving stone arches are among the oldest multiple-span railroad bridges in the world.
An Elkridge map poster brings these layers together: the natural curve of the river, the parkland of the Patapsco Valley, the heavy transport corridors and the finer grain of residential neighbourhoods. Each is drawn with the same care, so the map reads as a portrait of a place shaped by water, rail and road.

Patapsco River
The river winds along the community's edge through a steep, wooded valley. Its curving course gives the poster a soft natural boundary against the surrounding roads.
Transport corridors
Major highways and rail lines pass through Elkridge between Baltimore and Washington. On the poster they appear as long, strong strokes that organise the whole composition.
