Two village cores
The old centres of Faches and Thumesnil can still be picked out as knots in the street pattern, now joined by later housing.

关于地图
Faches-Thumesnil Map Poster & Print
Faches-Thumesnil lies directly south of Lille, within the Lille metropolitan area in Hauts-de-France. As the double name suggests, it brings together two former villages, Faches and Thumesnil, which grew until they met, and the map still shows more than one centre inside a continuous suburban fabric.
The streets form a close network of terraced houses and small blocks, the brick-built housing typical of the Lille area, broken by squares, schools and a few green spaces. Major roads and the motorway corridor toward the south run nearby, framing the town on the map.
A Faches-Thumesnil map poster captures the particular texture of a northern French suburb: dense, orderly and residential, joined seamlessly to the city on one side and opening toward the flatter land of the south on the other.

Terraced streets
Rows of houses line narrow streets in compact blocks, giving the map a fine, even grain typical of the Lille metropolitan area.
Edge of Lille
To the north the town merges with the city without a clear break, while roads to the south lead out of the metropolitan area.
