Town centre
The historic core of Fafe forms the densest part of the map, where streets converge and blocks tighten. Several of the emigrants' mansions stand in and around this area.

关于地图
Fafe Map Poster & Print
Fafe is a town in the district of Braga, in the hilly interior of northern Portugal. The land around it rises and falls in a series of green slopes and ridges, and the town's streets follow that relief rather than a strict grid. On a map the centre appears as a denser knot of roads, with suburbs and villages scattered across the surrounding hillsides.
The town is known for the grand houses built by emigrants who made their fortunes in Brazil in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and returned home, known locally as the houses of the Brasileiros. Fafe is also familiar to motorsport fans, since the rally stages in the hills nearby are a regular and much-loved part of Rally de Portugal.
A Fafe map poster shows a town shaped by terrain. The roads curve with the contours, the centre gathers where the ground levels out, and the edges break up into scattered houses and fields, the typical pattern of the Minho countryside. The result is an organic drawing, quite different from the planned grids of newer towns elsewhere.

Curving hill roads
Outside the centre, roads wind along the slopes to reach villages and farms, forming loose, looping lines on the poster that trace the shape of the land beneath them.
Scattered settlement
Like much of northern Portugal, the countryside around Fafe is dotted with houses and hamlets rather than left empty, so the poster's edges carry a fine, dispersed texture.

为什么选 Fafe
一张有意义的地图
For Fafe natives, emigrant families abroad and rally fans who have stood on those hillsides, this map is a way to keep the town present. Its winding streets give the poster movement, even in the quietest black and white.
You can change the title and subtitle, add your own coordinates line, and pick from five styles including Paper and Sand. The digital files cost $9 and include 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF versions for six sizes, without a watermark.
