关于地图
Gadani Map Poster & Print
Gadani is a coastal town in Balochistan, on the Arabian Sea a short distance west of Karachi. From above, the coast is the defining feature: a long, gently curving shoreline of sand, with the town's streets gathered inland and arid, open land stretching away behind them. The street pattern is simple, with a few main roads and loosely arranged blocks.
Gadani is known worldwide for its ship-breaking yard, one of the largest in the world, where decommissioned vessels are beached and taken apart along the shore. The yard's plots line the coast in a long row. On detailed maps they create a distinctive pattern of narrow strips running down to the water's edge.
A Gadani map poster balances three elements: the bold line of the coast, the modest grid of the town and the wide emptiness of the dry land inland. It is a strongly graphic composition with plenty of negative space, and it works well in large formats. The Sand style in particular suits the colours of this coastline.

Ship-breaking yard
Plots used for dismantling ships stretch along the beach in a regular sequence. They give the coastline a distinctive, finely segmented edge.
Dry hinterland
Behind the town, arid ground with few roads leaves broad empty areas on the map. This underlines how closely Gadani is tied to the sea.

一张有意义的地图
Gadani means different things to different people, from those who work in the yards to families from the coast and day visitors from Karachi. A map records the place plainly, and you can personalise its title, subtitle and coordinates line.
There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 HD download covers six sizes with no watermark, and a free 900 px preview is available beforehand. Printed matte posters can be framed in wood.
