Western highway
The main road west from Addis Ababa passes straight through the town and forms the dominant line of the map, with most of the settlement clustered along it.

关于地图
Gēdo Map Poster & Print
Gēdo is a town in the West Shewa area of Oromia, in the Ethiopian highlands west of Addis Ababa. It grew along the long road that links the capital with the western regions of the country, and that road remains the backbone of its map: a single strong line through the frame, with the town's streets gathered on either side of it.
Away from the highway, the street pattern becomes looser and more informal, with lanes and footpaths reaching out toward farmland. The surrounding highland landscape is largely agricultural, and on a map the transition from built-up blocks to open country is gradual rather than abrupt, which gives the edges of the poster a soft, fraying quality.
A Gēdo map poster is a quiet, graphic portrait of a working highland town rather than a tourist view. The composition is simple, one arterial road and a web of smaller streets, which suits minimalist styles well. It is a thoughtful choice for anyone from the area, or for those who have travelled the western road and stopped here along the way.

Informal lanes
Side streets and paths branch away from the highway in irregular patterns, creating a fine, almost hand-drawn texture across the poster.
Highland edges
The town fades gradually into surrounding farmland, so the outer parts of the map show scattered buildings and tracks rather than a sharp boundary.

为什么选 Gēdo
一张有意义的地图
Many people from towns like Gēdo now live in Addis Ababa or abroad, and a map of home can be a steady reminder of where a family began. The title can carry the town's name in the spelling you prefer, and the subtitle and coordinates line can be changed as well.
Of the five styles, Classic black & white and Noir suit the strong single-road composition, while Paper, Sand and Blueprint soften it. The $9 digital purchase includes six sizes, among them A3 and 24×36″, as 300 DPI PNG and PDF, and printed posters are available through partners in more than 30 countries.
