Geseke Map Poster & Print
Geseke lies on the Hellweg, the ancient east–west route across Westphalia, between Lippstadt and Paderborn in North Rhine-Westphalia. Its historic centre has a compact pattern of streets around the old churches, a legacy of its medieval importance as a Hanseatic town on this trade road. It is still the densest cluster of detail on the map.
The land around Geseke rests on limestone, and the town is known for its cement industry. Large quarries surround it. On a Geseke map poster they appear as broad, sharply defined open areas with stepped edges, unusual shapes that set this map apart from those of other small towns in the region.
