Old village lanes
The core of the former craft village is a dense web of narrow alleys. It is the most intricate part of the poster and a record of Hanoi before urbanisation.

关于地图
Định Công Map Poster & Print
Định Công is a ward in southern Hanoi, where the city's older fabric meets its newer planned districts. From above, both are visible. A dense tangle of narrow lanes remains from the former village, next to the more regular layout of apartment blocks and townhouses in the Định Công new urban area. A lake among the streets gives the map an open centre.
The name belongs to one of Hanoi's traditional craft villages, long associated with goldsmithing and silverwork. The old village core survives as a maze of alleys around communal houses and temples. On a Định Công map poster, that intricate pattern contrasts sharply with the straight roads and rectangular blocks that surround it.
Canalised rivers and drainage channels run through this part of the city, and main roads link the ward to the ring roads around central Hanoi. Traffic, markets and housing are tightly packed, but in monochrome the map becomes calm and easy to read. Water, lanes and blocks are arranged in a pattern that tells the story of a village becoming part of a city.

New urban area
Planned apartment blocks, rows of townhouses and straight internal roads make a regular, geometric pattern beside the older lanes, a clear sign of the city's southward growth.
Lake and channels
Open water and drainage channels break up the dense street fabric. They give the map areas of quiet space and softer, curving lines.

为什么选 Định Công
一张有意义的地图
For residents of Định Công, a map of the ward captures a very particular piece of Hanoi, where family roots in the old village sit alongside new apartments. It also makes a thoughtful gift for relatives living far from the city.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with an address or a wedding date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy the HD files for $9, or order a matte print, framed or unframed.
