Gnépasso is in the Bas-Sassandra District of southwestern Ivory Coast, a short distance inland from the Atlantic. On the map it is a modest cluster of streets and compounds. A few main roads pass through, and narrower lanes branch out between the house plots, which gives the centre an irregular, lived-in pattern.
The region around it is one of the country's main cocoa-growing areas, and the landscape shows it.
