Inner harbour
The old centre is built tightly around a small sheltered harbour. The quayside streets trace its outline, which makes the water the natural focal point of the map.

关于地图
Grimstad Map Poster & Print
Grimstad is a coastal town in Agder, on Norway's southern Skagerrak shore. Its old centre wraps around a sheltered inner harbour. Narrow lanes of white-painted wooden houses climb the rocky ground behind the quays. On a map the town is a tight knot of streets pressed between the hills and the water.
Offshore, the coast breaks into islands, skerries and inlets, and these give the poster its most striking shapes. In the age of sail Grimstad was a notable shipbuilding and shipping town, and the harbour was its reason for being. The bays around the town still mark exactly where the land ends and the sea begins.
As a young man, Henrik Ibsen worked as an apprentice pharmacist in Grimstad and wrote his first play here. The pharmacy is now a museum. A Grimstad map poster pairs that literary connection with a complex coastline, where every island and cove becomes a fine shape of its own on the page.

Skerry coastline
Many islands and rocks lie off the coast, turning the edge of the poster into an intricate pattern of shapes separated by narrow channels.
Old wooden quarter
Behind the harbour, short winding lanes of historic timber houses follow the uneven rocky ground. The result is an irregular street pattern quite unlike a planned grid.

为什么选 Grimstad
一张有意义的地图
Grimstad draws summer visitors, sailors and readers of Ibsen, and many take the town's outline home as a reminder of long days on the southern coast. For people from Agder it is simply home, drawn with care.
Personalise it with your own title, subtitle and coordinates, such as the year of a summer stay or a family name. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Each digital purchase includes six print sizes with no watermark.
