The abbey walls
The fortified monastery of Santa Maria forms a compact, walled block near the centre. It is the most recognisable shape on the town plan.

关于地图
Grottaferrata Map Poster & Print
Grottaferrata is one of the Castelli Romani, the group of towns in the Alban Hills southeast of Rome. From above, its streets follow the slopes of the old volcanic hills. Roads curve between residential areas, and vineyards, olive groves and patches of woodland reach almost to the town centre.
Its best-known landmark is the Abbey of Santa Maria di Grottaferrata, founded in 1004 by Saint Nilus of Rossano. It remains a Greek-rite Catholic monastery, still following the Byzantine tradition, and its fortified walls are clearly visible on the town plan. Neighbouring Frascati and Marino lie just a short distance away.
A Grottaferrata map poster shows a town made of curves. The walled abbey complex forms a distinctive block, roads wind across the hillside, and green gaps between neighbourhoods keep the drawing light. It is a gentle, varied composition, very different from the rigid grids of the Roman suburbs below.

为什么选 Grottaferrata
一张有意义的地图
Grottaferrata draws people who love the Castelli Romani: the wine, the cooler air above Rome, the old abbey. A map of its winding streets is a lasting reminder of a home or a season spent in the hills.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a wedding date at the abbey, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy the $9 digital files or order a print.
