Central colonial grid
Straight streets and regular blocks at the heart of town give the map a clear, organised centre that contrasts with the irregular growth around it.

关于地图
Guelma Map Poster & Print
Guelma lies in a broad basin in northeastern Algeria, on the plain of the Seybouse River, with mountain ranges rising on several sides. From above, the town has a compact centre that spreads over gently sloping ground toward the river valley, with farmland beyond. The hills around it form the outer frame of the map, and the roads follow the valley toward Annaba and the coast.
The site was the Roman town of Calama, and its theatre, restored in the early twentieth century, still stands inside the modern city. The later colonial town was laid out on a fairly regular plan. Its straight streets and rectangular blocks are still visible at the centre, surrounded by newer districts that follow the terrain more loosely.
A Guelma map poster brings those layers together in one frame: the orderly central grid, the river winding across the plain and the hills closing in around it. The region is also known for its thermal springs, including Hammam Debagh to the west, and the roads leading to them add more lines to the composition.

Roman theatre of Calama
The ancient theatre has a distinct curved footprint within the city. It is one of the few semicircular forms in an otherwise rectilinear street plan.
Seybouse river plain
The river and its valley run below the town, adding a soft, meandering line and open farmland that give the composition space and balance.
