关于地图
Hoeryŏng Map Poster & Print
Hoeryŏng lies in North Hamgyong Province in the far northeast of North Korea, on the southern bank of the Tumen River. The river forms the border with China, and the Chinese town of Sanhe sits on the opposite side. On the map, the Tumen's winding course marks the northern edge of the town. Behind it, steep, forested mountains rise on every side, confining the settlement to the valley floor.
The town's layout follows the valley. Streets line up along the river and a tributary stream, and blocks become sparser where the ground begins to climb. Within North Korea, Hoeryŏng is known as the birthplace of Kim Jong-suk, and a memorial complex there commemorates her. For readers outside the country, the town is often associated with the border and the river crossing.
A Hoeryŏng map poster shows an isolated place with unusual clarity. The river, the valley and the mountains are clearly visible, but ordinary visitors almost never see the town. Because published map data for North Korea is limited, the print focuses on the shape of the land and the town's structure rather than fine street detail.

为什么选 Hoeryŏng
一张有意义的地图
This print suits people with family ties to the region, researchers of the Korean peninsula, and anyone who collects maps of places that are hard to visit. Its value lies in its restraint: a clean, factual view of a town seldom seen from the outside.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates to suit the purpose of the print. Blueprint emphasises its documentary character, and Noir makes the river line especially clear. Digital files cost $9 and come in six sizes with no watermark.
