Switchback roads
Roads climb and descend in long curves, following ridgelines and valley sides. On the poster they form flowing lines that are very different from a city street plan.

关于地图
Huimin Map Poster & Print
Huimin is a township in the mountains of southwestern Yunnan, close to the border area with Myanmar. From above, it looks nothing like a gridded town. Roads switch back along ridges and valleys, and villages sit wherever the slopes allow. The map is defined more by terrain than by streets, and the roads trace the contours of steep, forested land.
The area is known for tea. The ancient tea forests of Jingmai Mountain lie in this part of Yunnan and are recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. On a black-and-white map, that landscape appears as scattered hamlets linked by winding roads, with large quiet spaces of hillside between them.
A Huimin map poster is less a picture of a city and more a portrait of a mountain place. The winding roads make an unusual composition, and the settlements look like small clusters on a large, open field. It suits anyone who prefers the shapes of landscape to the density of urban grids.

Tea mountain landscape
The hills around Huimin include the old tea forests of Jingmai Mountain. Between the roads they appear as broad, calm spaces that hint at the terraced slopes beyond.
Hillside villages
Small villages sit along the ridges and slopes. Each one shows up as a compact cluster, scattered across the map like points connected by thin threads.
